The three woes spoken of in Revelation 8: 13 represent three world wars on the earth in the last days under the fifth trumpet (World War One), the sixth trumpet (World War Two), and the seventh trumpet (World War Three). Between the sixth trumpet in Revelation 9 and the seventh trumpet in Revelation 11, Christ descends in Revelation 10, and reveals Himself to the Bride via the message of the seventh angel (Revelation 10: 7).
These three woes upon the inhabitants of the earth were also seen in the days of Abraham. The first woe is in Genesis 14: 1 – 12, when Gentile nations fought for the control of resources and took Abraham’s nephew Lot captive. The second woe is in Genesis 14: 13 – 16, when Abraham went out to save his kinsman from annihilation by the Gentile powers that had taken his nephew captive. This was a shadow of what God would do for the Jews. They were saved by the allies from Hitler’s Final Solution of total annihilation in the concentration camps of World War Two.
Between the second woe, when Lot was delivered from the Gentile nations, and the third woe, when Sodom was burnt to ashes by fire falling from Heaven (Genesis 19), we see God come down and make a special visitation to His prophet Abraham in the form of Melchizedek (Genesis 14: 18 – 20), giving Him the bread and wine of fellowship, and later, the promise of a new body to bring forth the promised son (Genesis 18).
