Under the sounding of the fifth trumpeting angel, John sees a star fall from Heaven to the earth, and to the fallen star was given the key of the bottomless pit (Hell). The star is Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12) who was cast out of Heaven with a third of the angels after his unsuccessful coup against Michael in Revelation 12:7-9. Here we see Lucifer as an angel falling from Heaven, whilst in Revelation 10:1, we see Christ as the Mighty Angel descending from Heaven. As Lucifer has a key in his hand (given to him by God), to unlock a door and open it up, even so Christ has a Book in His hand (Revelation 10: 2) that is no longer locked (sealed), but opened.
The key represents science and technology which allowed man to make tremendous progress in the twentieth century, and at the same time made a way for devils from the fifth dimension (Hell) to come into this world and enter into the flesh of human beings via the information superhighway of the fourth dimension. If the key in Lucifer’s hand can unlock a world and loose its inhabitants onto the earth, then the Book in Christ’s hand must also unlock a world and loose its inhabitants onto the earth as well. What we are seeing here is the secret of how Hell has materialized on the earth, and of how Heaven will materialize on the earth.
The key given to Lucifer opened up a dimensional door for spirit and flesh to unite. On one side of the door are billions of people on the earth who have crossed the line by rejecting the Word, and on the other side of the door are billions of devils that became disembodied when they fell from Heaven with Lucifer. But the opening up of the door made a way for these disembodied devils to come into this world and incarnate themselves into the flesh of those people who had a chance at the Word and turned It down. By entering into the flesh of those that rejected the Word, these devils will rule and reign with Lucifer over his Eden when he too incarnates himself into the flesh of the Man of Sin (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4)
But the Book in the right hand of Christ also opens up a dimensional door for spirit and flesh to unite. In this world are the elected ones who have received the Word for their age, and in the next world are the theophanies of the saints which are waiting to come back into flesh. By the full revelation of the Word, an access has been made for the theophanies of the saints (their angels in Heaven [Matthew 18:10]) to come to the earth and unite with their flesh bodies, so that they can come to glorification and then be translated. By the uniting of flesh and theophany, the Bride will rule and reign with Christ over the whole earth in the Kingdom Age.
These supernatural devils are called locusts (Revelation 9:3), and their king is Lucifer, who is called Abaddon and Apollyon (Revelation 9:11), which means Destroyer in Hebrew and Greek. The entry of the locusts into this world was hidden by a conspiratorial smokescreen of lies and deception that darkened out the Truth of the S-O-N. The number of the devils John saw is given in verse 16, as two-hundred million! This is not the total number, but is in actuality two-hundred million EXTRA devils pressing their way into this world by the expansion of Hell’s borders (Isaiah 5:14).
The devils are commanded not to touch any man that has the seal of God (Ephesians 4: 30). This shows to us that the Bride who has the seal of God is still present on the earth when these devils have come up onto it. Man is likened to a plant or a tree in Revelation 9:4 and Psalm 1:1-3, and the devils are likened to locusts (Joel 1:4) that eat down botany life. These supernatural devils are not coming to eat down natural trees, but are eating down the trees that God did not plant; in other words, they will torment and destroy the lives of those who are not the seed of God and therefore did not receive the Holy Ghost. In their entering into flesh, they set about anointing inventors and scientists, and by the inventions and discoveries of man, the devils were able to destroy the earth. Man’s technological achievements have been marvelous in many respects, but his scientific breakthroughs have also messed-up the minds of the people that rejected the sealing Angel. By projecting imagery from Hell onto the screens of television sets, computers and smartphones etcetera, the whole world is being sent insane.
We are seeing something very interesting here, for under the fifth trumpet, Hell is opened and devils are loosed on the earth. Under the sixth trumpet, the devils are shown to be working through the flesh of world leaders and their subjects (Revelation 9:14), and under the seventh trumpet, the nations are angry (Revelation 11:18). So by getting into the leaders of nations and into the people of power, position, and influence, these devils are able to cause the nations of the whole world to rebel against the Word.
The lifespan of a typical desert locust is five months, and is why the devils are said to torment mankind for the space of five months. To put it simply, these devils will afflict mankind until they are completely destroyed in the Lake of Fire. But the five months also represent the five years of World War One, from 1914 to 1918, for the fifth trumpet is the first woe (World War One [Revelation 8:13]), the sixth trumpet is the second woe (World War Two), and the seventh trumpet is the third woe (World War Three).
Although the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets deal with the inhabitants of the earth in three world wars, yet they more specifically deal with the Jewish people. World War One prepared Palestine for the Jews when the Ottoman Turks were driven out of the land by the British. World War Two prepared the Jews for Palestine by forcing them to escape the Holocaust in Europe and flee back to their ancient homeland. World War Three, which begins during the Tribulation, is when the returned Jew in his returned land will receive Christ under the ministry of the two Jewish prophets.
A sad and horrible picture is then described by John in Revelation 9: 6. The prophet teaches us that the rejection of the Word makes a way for Satan and his devils to incarnate themselves into flesh. The billions of people that rejected the Word will become so demonically possessed during the Great Tribulation, that many will scream to die, and will try to kill themselves in their mentally disturbed state, but they will not be able to do so, for their bodies that would normally be animated by the spirit of natural life and a sound mind, will be forcibly made to live on under the control of the demonic life inside them.
John proceeds to describe the devils that he saw. The description he gives is not the literal appearance of the devils, but has to do with how the devil looked when it materialized itself in the physical world. The details about them are given under the fifth trumpet (Revelation 9:7-10), and are continued under the sixth trumpet (Revelation 9:16-19). These composite devils are not only associated with warfare, but are behind the politics, religion, fashion, and every other industry of the world. This army of locusts is also described in Joel 1:4, Joel 1:6, and Joel 2:4. They are sent and empowered by God’s permission to get into flesh and effect world events in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, in order to bring prophecy to pass.
In describing the locusts, John speaks of the ground transportation of the world’s armies (horses prepared unto battle), in their trucks and jeeps and tanks etcetera. He speaks of the world leaders that draw the nations into war (on their heads were crowns of gold, and they had faces of men). He saw the devils with hair like woman, showing that the twentieth century would become a woman’s world where she would usurp the position of a man and become worshipped as a goddess.
John saw the nations being devoured and absorbed into other nations (Daniel 7:23) as the geopolitics of the world rapidly changed (they had teeth as lions). He saw the satellite defence systems, the missile defence shields, and the spy networks (the breastplates of iron that protect the vital organs of a body). He heard the sounds of the fighter aircraft and attack helicopters, and saw the rise of drone warfare (the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle).
Lastly, John saw the guns, missile launchers and Direct Energy weapons of modern warfare (they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails). All that John saw in his description of the locusts under the fifth and sixth trumpets would culminate under the seventh trumpet, as billions of dollars are pumped into the world’s militaries in preparation for the final showdown of World War Three.
After all that has been described under the fifth trumpet, the scriptures would then say that the first woe is past, and that there are two more woes yet to come (Revelation 9:12), thus establishing the truth that the three woes or three world wars are connected with the fifth, sixth, and seventh trumpets.
The sounding of the sixth trumpet is heard in the form of a Voice from the golden altar of the Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary. The Voice of the blood (Hebrews 12:24) is speaking from this piece of furniture because it is where the blood was sprinkled in the Old Testament (Exodus 30:10), and the crimes committed by the Jews (in their rejection of Christ and calling for His blood to be upon them and their children) had been committed against the altar, so the Voice of judgment is speaking from that place.
Four angels were then loosed from the River Euphrates to slay a third part of men (Revelation 9:14-15). To understand this, we must look at the seven visions the prophet of God had in 1933, for they are the key to understanding who the four angels were.
The first vision was of Mussolini and his invasion of Ethiopia and how he would later come to a horrible end. The second vision was the rise of Hitler and how he would draw the world into war and later come to a mysterious end. The third vision was of Fascism and Nazism being swallowed up by Communism, and a Voice admonishing to watch Russia, the King of the North. The fourth vision was of the great advances in science. The fifth vision was the morality problem of the age, centering mostly around women. The sixth vision was the rise of a beautiful woman in America. The seventh vision was the destruction of America.
The first three visions were connected with Italy, Germany and Russia, whilst the last four visions were all connected with America. Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, Josef Stalin and Franklin Roosevelt were the four angels who drew the whole world into war, during which six million of the world’s eighteen million Jews (a third of man) was killed in the horrors of the Holocaust. As fallen angels or locusts were loosed from the Bottomless Pit under the fifth trumpet, even so were fallen angels loosed from the River Euphrates under the sixth trumpet.
But what then does the River Euphrates represent? Euphrates is connected with Babylon because it flowed through the ancient city. Babylon later became Mystery Babylon (Revelation 17:1-6), and Euphrates became a mystery river. Mystery Babylon today is papal Rome that rules the world, and Euphrates is how Rome’s influence spreads into all the world, so the four men who drew the whole world into a state of war were under the influence of Roman spirits from the mystery river. These spirits hate God’s chosen people and tried to exterminate them in World War Two.
And by what methods were the Jews killed in World War Two? By the crematoriums (fire), gas chambers (smoke), and bullets (brimstone) spoken of in Revelation 9:17. The locusts had heads of lions, and the fire, smoke and brimstone came out of their mouths. The head of a lion (Daniel 7:3-4) represents Babylonian infused thinking that so influenced men until Adolf Hitler would preach a false gospel of Jewish extermination that the entire nation of Germany rallied behind. And today, the same devils that anointed men like Adolf Hitler are still here, and are getting into politicians, the media and denominational preachers, to bring a persecution against the Bride (by the eventual uniting of church and state), and to drag the whole world into another war (World War Three).
The torment of the locust army is ultimately manifested in the insanity that has swept over the whole world. Insanity, as we shall later see in Chapter 16, is the plague contained in the seventh vial. But the Bible shows in Revelation 19:20 that the people of the world refuse to repent despite the evil that has rapidly spread and intensified on the earth. Their refusal to repent is because there is no seed of God in their hearts to receive the Truth and repent of their wicked deeds, thus fulfilling Romans 1:21-32. Because of Laodicea’s refusal to repent, it is experiencing the last stage of church discipline, whereby it has been turned completely over to Satan for its ultimate destruction at Armageddon.
