Psalm 90: 4: For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
2 Peter 3: 8: But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
God is an eternal being outside of Time, but for us mortals who live inside of Time, we are given a scriptural analogy as to how insignificant Time is in the sight of God. Let us assume that a thousand years on the earth really are but a single day in Heaven, and we will work with a thousand prophetic years consisting of 360-days (twelve months of thirty days) each for a nice clean analysis as to how insignificant Time is to God.
A 24-hour day in Heaven would obviously be a thousand years on the earth, and midday or 12-noon in Heaven would be 500 years on the earth. Six in the morning in Heaven would be about 249 years on the earth, a single hour in Heaven would be about 41 years on the earth, and a single minute in Heaven would be about eight months on the earth. In light of all this, it becomes quite clear that both the psalmist and Peter were giving a comparison for us to slightly comprehend how small Time is against the vastness of Eternity.
