It is commonly assumed that the advanced and modern world we live in today is the first time in history that the great scientific achievements and breakthroughs we witness and enjoy have been reached. What is perhaps not well known is that the antediluvian world had achieved a much superior reach in its scientific progress.
From the Fall to the Flood elapsed a time of 1656 years, and in that time the average man was living for hundreds of years as is clearly shown in Genesis 5. These were very smart men that lived on the earth, whose ancestry could be traced back to Cain, the son of the Serpent, incarnated by Satan himself. Called the Tree of Knowledge in Genesis, Satan is the father of all fallen wisdom, and through the stream of human beings since the dawn of time, he has made his capabilities known.
Imagine living for hundreds of years, and the level of knowledge you could acquire and apply in such an expansive amount of time. So in living for hundreds of years, ancient man with his shrewd intelligence rapidly developed the antediluvian world, creating a civilization so capable and advanced that even today we cannot comprehend how very ancient structures such as the Great Pyramid (made by Enoch) could have been built. Genesis 4 reveals how that cities were built, and industries of agriculture, metallurgy and music developed. By the time of the Flood, the whole earth had become corrupted by its very own scientific progress, in much the same way as we witness it today.
It is in very ancient records that we read of atomic warfare and other lethal weapons, of aircraft and spacecraft, of anti-gravity, of cloaking (invisibility) and much more. Discoveries around the world add confirmation to the fact that ancient man was much more brilliant than is first assumed. His technological capabilities actually spanned both sides of the Flood in a manner that makes perfect sense with a very small explanation.
If you were living in the antediluvian world and possessed knowledge of aeronautics, computers, engineering, chemistry and whatever else; upon disembarking from the Ark in the new world, you would still have that knowledge and could therefore reapply that knowledge to help you get ahead. So the ancient records give accounts of technologies that existed after Flood which “modern man” cannot understand; it is because the knowledge came over on the Ark, and when man was scattered at Babel and became divided into nations (Genesis 10), this knowledge was used to help certain cultures get ahead and wage effective warfare against their enemies.
As the centuries after the Flood rolled by, this knowledge that had been kept exclusive amongst various early cultures and civilizations of a divided world was gradually lost (a good example of this in more recent history is that of the highly advanced Mayan civilization whose immense knowledge was lost when it was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadores), and so man has been ever so slowly over the past 4000 years developing himself towards that again. In our past one hundred years or so we have made tremendous gains in knowledge and technology (Daniel 12: 4) as the world has become reconnected by the internet in this information sharing age, and our civilization is returning to a level similar to what existed in the days of Noah as Jesus prophesied it would be (Matthew 24: 37).
