Ruth 3: 11: And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
Revelation 19: 7: Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
The Book of Ruth is an eastern love story, of how Boaz fell in love with and married a Gentile woman (Ruth was a Moabite). This romantic narrative foreshadowed Christ taking to himself a Gentile Bride.
In 1963, when the seals were being preached, the prophet expressed what Christ is looking for in a Bride. He illustrated it by telling a western love story of an orphan girl who was selected by a great rancher’s son to be his bride. This girl was chosen because of the special character she displayed, and she believed her fiancé’s word and made herself ready despite the scoffing and the mocking of her female cousins.
The story the prophet told showed what Christ is coming for. He is taking to Himself a Bride with His character, a woman who holds to His Word and makes Herself ready despite all the mockers and the scoffers around Her (2 Peter 3: 3 – 4).
