Revelation 8: 10 – 11: And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
A star named Wormwood struck the fresh water under the third trumpet and consequentially caused many to die because the water had become poisonous. An event with similar disastrous effects occurred on April 26, 1986, when a reactor of the nuclear power plant of Chernobyl in the Ukraine exploded, releasing massive amounts of radiation that drifted across northern Europe, affecting the inhabitants and food grown in the entire region. What is so interesting about this terrible event is that the name Chernobyl in the Ukrainian language means Wormwood!
