2 Kings 9: 35 – 36: And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands. Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel:
Elijah prophesied that Jezebel would be eaten by dogs. When Jehu came to Jezreel and told the queen’s eunuchs to throw the woman from the wall, he then trampled her under his chariot and the dogs came by a little later and ate up her flesh. Jezebel was a shadow of the Roman power in the last days that controls the whole world (Revelation 2: 20 – 23).
In these last days God is going to destroy the Roman power, and the language used to describe this destruction accords perfectly with the dogs feeding on Jezebel’s flesh. Revelation 17: 16: And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. With America declining from superpower status, Rome will rule the world during the Tribulation with the allegiance of ten powerful world leaders who will give their economies and militaries to Rome to carry out the will of Rome. These ten kings will later turn against Rome and burn her headquarters by destroying the Vatican with nuclear weapons. So as dogs feasted on the flesh of ancient Jezebel, so ten kings in the last days will eat up the flesh of modern Jezebel when they nuke her headquarters.
