The Bible has seven dispensations, or periods of time, where God interacted with His people in different ways. These dispensations are:
(1) Innocence: from the Garden of Eden to the Fall of Man.
(2) Human Conscience: from the Fall of Man to the Great Flood in the time of Noah.
(3) Human Government: from the Great Flood to Abraham (the repopulating of the earth following the Great Flood).
(4) Promise: from Abraham to Moses (a promised land for a chosen people).
(5) Law: from Moses to Jesus (righteousness acquired through works).
(6) Grace: from Pentecost (Acts 2) to the Rapture (righteousness by grace through faith).
(7) Kingdom: the 1000-year reign of Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Some of these changes of dispensation were marked by an earthquake. The dispensation of Innocence ended when God cursed the earth, so that it shook for the first time under sin’s hold. The dispensation of Human Conscience ended with the fountains of the great deep being broken up by a tremendous earthquake (Genesis 7:11). The dispensation of Promise ended with Moses’ receiving the Law whilst Mount Sinai quaked (Exodus 19:18). The dispensation of the Law ended at Calvary, when the earth quaked and the temple veil was rent (Matthew 27:51). The dispensation of Grace will end with the California earthquake that sinks Los Angeles.
When the California earthquake happens, God’s dealing with the Gentiles comes to an end, and the Gospel will go back to the Jews under the ministry of their two prophets (Revelation 11:3). After 144,000 Jews of Israel’s twelve tribes have been sealed (Revelation 7:2-4), then will follow the greatest of all earthquakes under the seventh vial (Zechariah 14:3-4; Revelation 16:17-20).
An earthquake can therefore represent a change of dispensation in the Bible. Furthermore, each time the Son of Man ministry was revealed in the Bible, it was followed by the destruction of a coastal city.
In the beginning of the Bible, when God stepped into flesh and revealed Himself to Abraham (Genesis 18), the destruction of Sodom (a coastal city by the Dead Sea) followed afterward (Genesis 19). In the middle of the Bible, when God stepped into flesh as Jesus Christ, the destruction of Capernaum (a coastal city by the Sea of Galilee) followed afterward (Matthew 11:23: And thou, Capernaum, which art exalted unto heaven, shalt be brought down to hell: for if the mighty works, which have been done in thee, had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day). At the end of the Bible, when “THE” Son of Man (Christ) reveals Himself through “A” son of man (the endtime prophet), the destruction of Los Angeles (a coastal city by the Pacific Ocean) will follow.
