Daniel 11: 45: And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
2 Thessalonians 2: 3 – 4: Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
Satan will incarnate the Pope (Revelation 12: 12) after the Bride is gone to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. This Man of Sin or Antichrist will then make a covenant with the Jews (Daniel 9: 27), allowing them to rebuild their temple and have the Judaic worship they so long for restored. At the end of the Tribulation, Rome will break its covenant with the Jews and, in allegiance with the ten horns (Revelation 17: 12 – 13), will wage a devastating military campaign against Israel and surrounding countries (Daniel 11: 40 – 45), killing the two Jewish prophets (Revelation 11: 7) and the 144,000 Jews, and exterminating two-thirds of Israel’s Jewish population (Zechariah 3: 8). Israel’s temple and the Judaic system of worship in the temple will also be abolished (Daniel 12: 11).
Having deceived the Jews so subtly and all but vanquished them, the Antichrist will make the temple in Jerusalem his headquarters. This is what Daniel spoke of when he said that the tabernacles of the Antichrist’s palace would be placed between the Mediterranean Sea and the Dead Sea, on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. From this place the Antichrist will rule the world, sitting on his throne in the Jew’s rebuilt temple as the abominating desolation that Daniel said would come. But he will not sit in this place very long, for the Antichrist will come to his end when he is cast into the Lake of Fire at Armageddon, when Christ returns to the earth with His Bride to set up His Kingdom and deliver Israel from annihilation (Revelation 19: 11 – 21).
