Genesis 45: 1: Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.
Having spent many years in Egypt and risen to great power, Joseph now looked like an Egyptian and spoke the language of the Egyptians (Genesis 42: 23). When Joseph finally revealed himself to his brothers, he spoke to them in Hebrew and then exposed the male organ of his body to show that he had been circumcised according to the covenant that God had made with their great-grandfather Abraham in Genesis 17: 9 – 14. When the brothers saw Joseph’s circumcised male organ, they knew for sure that he was their brother they had sold into slavery so many years before.
The manner of revealing himself to his brothers by showing the wound in his flesh is how Jesus will be recognized by the Jews when He reveals Himself to them according to Zechariah 13: 6: And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. The ministry of Moses and Elijah to the Jews during the Tribulation will shake off the Jews’ blindness and cause them to recognize that their forefathers had crucified the Word in flesh. Then when the Jews see the glorified Jesus, He will still bare in His body the scars in His hands and feet where He had been nailed to the cross.
