Mark 5: 12 – 13: And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
When Jesus delivered a man called Legion (so named because of the many devils that were in him), the devils desired not to remain disembodied after being cast out, and earnestly wanted to get into a herd of pigs that were nearby. When the devils got into the pigs, it caused these animals to run into the sea and drown. We can therefore understand from this that suicide is an act influenced by devils.
In the message “From that time,” preached on May 20, 1961, the prophet of God called out a soldier boy who was contemplating suicide. The boy was in a messed-up state and so overwhelmed by his condition that he had developed a phobia because of lies the Devil was telling him. If the boy continued entertaining those lies, then he would have surely gone insane and killed himself. The prophet then gave the solution to dealing with suicidal thoughts, and that is, to deny and renounce the Devil, and to accept Jesus Christ as the Healer and Deliverer.
