A small and highly delusional movement that has risen over the past years is that the earth is not a sphere, but instead is a flat circular plain upon which life exists. The reasoning and conspiratorial theories that accompany this group of people are absurd, ridiculous, and amusing, however the Bible and the prophet of God make it very clear as to what shape the earth actually is.
Isaiah 40: 22: It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: The scripture here shows us that the shape of our planet is circular, however the delusional may still use this scripture to claim that the earth is flat and circular. When we turn our attention to Revelation 7: 1, we find another description of the earth: And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree. Here the scripture tells us that the earth has four corners. It is impossible of course to be living on a planet that is flat and square shaped if Isaiah says that the earth is flat and circular. The two scriptures must be considered together in order to correctly determine that shape of our planet.
The earth is a sphere (circular) and its corners are the farthermost reaches of the planet. Jesus himself taught the rotation of our spherical planet in Luke 17: 34 – 36: I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. The catching away of the Bride in the Rapture is a global happening and happens in a single moment that spans different time zones. The two in a bed show that it is evening time, the two grinding at the mill indicates that it is morning or evening, whilst the two in the field indicates that it is mid-noon.
Lastly, we will direct our attention to the prophet of God who received two visions that clearly showed the shape of our planet. These visions came from the God of all creation who would surely know what shape the planet He created actually is. In his first vision, the prophet saw the earth and a man dressed in white sowing good seed as he walked around the earth and disappeared over its curvature. The man dressed in white was followed by a man dressed in black sowing bad seed as he walked around the earth and disappeared over its curvature. In his second vision, the prophet saw the earth with a circle of Jesus’ blood around it like a red mist. Jesus’ blood acted as a bumper between the prophet and the Throne of God and would protect the prophet whenever he saw himself doing something wrong on the earth in the vision.
These few examples from the scriptures and from the prophet conclusively establish that the shape of our planet is not a circular flat plain but is indeed a beautiful blue spherical planet that is orbited by satellites and has been seen by many astronauts in their voyages to Space.
