Revelation 1: 1: The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
The opening words of the Book of Revelation are indeed profound, for they tell us that Jesus received a revelation of Himself from the Father! And if Jesus received a revelation of Himself, then we too need a revelation of who we are from the Father. Now this might puzzle the reader as to why Jesus needed a revelation of Himself, but we must remember that the humanity of Jesus did not know all things. This is made clear to us in Matthew 24: 36: But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. On the earth, Jesus could only say what the Father had shown Him, so He did not know the day nor hour when the translation of the saints would be. But when Jesus died, resurrected, and ascended to Heaven, then the great revelation of these things was made know to Him, and He shared those things to John via a messenger angel.
The angel that relayed the great revelation of Jesus Christ to John was the theophany of the seventh angel-messenger William Branham (Malachi 4: 5; Revelation 10: 7). This truth we shall firmly establish by looking at the Book of Revelation and seeing what it tells us about the angel. This angel is the same angel of Revelation 10: 7, because the seventh angel of Revelation 10 would reveal the mystery of God, and as we have come to understand, Christ is the mystery of God revealed, so the revelation of Jesus Christ and the mystery of God are one and the same.
It can further be proven that this angel-messenger was not a heavenly angel, but was an earthly angel, because Revelation 21: 17 tells us that the angel is a man: And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel. John was a type of the Bride. He saw the theophany of William Branham in Heaven; but on the earth, we saw William Branham as a man in flesh. Next, we learn that not only is the angel a man, but that he is also a prophet according to Revelation 22: 8 – 9: And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things. Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God. As John fell at the feet of the angel to worship him, so do people today worship William Branham as Jesus Christ. But the angel refused worship, because although he had a special calling upon his life as the last days prophet-messenger, yet he was just an ordinary man, he was just one of us.
This angel-messenger who is a man with a special calling to be God’s prophet in the last days, he is also one of the seven angels who has the seven vials according to Revelation 17: 1 and Revelation 21: 9; and more specifically, he is the seventh angel holding the seventh vial. But why is he holding a vial? It is because the earth is to be smitten with a curse if his message was rejected according to Malachi 4: 6: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse. Each of the church age messengers had a vial (Revelation 15: 1), and when their message was rejected, then God poured out a judgment plague upon each age. So in the last days, with the rejection of the prophet’s message, the seventh vial has been poured out, and a plague of insanity has been loosed upon the earth.
This angel with the seventh vial not only revealed Jesus Christ to us according to Revelation 1: 1, but he also revealed who the Lamb’s Wife is according to Revelation 21: 9: And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb’s wife. In revealing Jesus Christ to us, the prophet also revealed to us that we are the Bride of Christ! That we are the Lamb’s Wife! Revelation 17: 1 also says: And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: From this we learn that the message of the prophet revealed to us Jesus Christ, it revealed to us that we are the Bride of Christ, and it revealed to us that those who reject the Word are part of the great whore system (Mystery Babylon), and are the bride of Satan.
It was a progressive unfolding to John who this angel was throughout the Book of Revelation. Revelation 1: 1 tells us that Jesus sent an angel to John, then in Revelation 1: 16, 20, John learns that the angel is one of the seven stars in Jesus’ right hand, and in Revelation 10: 7, John hears the voice of the seventh angel-star. But it was not until Revelation 17: 1, Revelation 21: 9,17 and Revelation 22: 8 – 9 that John identifies the angel as a man, as a prophet, and as the one holding the seventh vial. As these things were a progressive unfolding to John, so the ministry of the prophet and the great revelation of Jesus Christ is a progressive unfolding to the Bride.
